However like so many reluctant heroes that tried to escape their destiny, fate would intervene and the event that changed her mind was one night on her commute she witnessed a group of men mugging an elderly woman. No doubt she would have become another victim if she had not been an Alpha Superior but watching the gang attacking a helpless individual made her angry. Choosing to act rather than think, she transformed into her water form and her very appearance caused the gang to scarper without their prize.

The lone survivor of an ambush of a Texas Ranger patrol (Klinton Spilsbury) is rescued by his childhood AmerIndian friend, Tonto (Michael Horse). He becomes the Lone Ranger and, along with Tonto, they go after the traitor & outlaw gang that orchestrated the massacre. Christopher Lloyd plays the villain, Matt Clark the crooked sheriff, Juanin Clay the beautiful lady and Jason Robards President Grant."The Legend of the Lone Ranger" (1981) is the first cinematic depiction of this Western hero, not counting the movies strewn together from the TV series (1949-1957) featuring Clayton Moore in the titular role. It's similar to "Mackenna's Gold" (1969) mixed with "The Comancheros" (1961) and its unacknowledged remake "Rio Conchos" (1964). All of these Westerns have a similar comic book tone, Southwest setting and a plot revolving around a veteran Civil War megalomaniac. The difference is that "The Legend of the Lone Ranger" adds the masked Western hero angle, akin to the later "The Mask of Zorro" (1998), but this doesn't even occur until two minutes shy of the hour mark. From there, whenever the masked avenger shows up along with the corresponding "William Tell Overture" and "Hi, ho, Silver, Away!" it spurs chuckles. But, disregarding that, this is a standard comic book Western with a respectful, serious take on the legend. This was lead actor Spilsbury's lone venture into cinema after only two small TV gigs. He looks the part and has the charisma, but the script doesn't give his character enough dimension and his voice was dubbed with James Keach's deeper vox. His fellow actors in the movie said this was unnecessary since there was nothing wrong with Spilsbury's voice (obviously the producers just wanted a deeper vox). Meanwhile, it's nice to see winsome Juanin Clay again (who had a significant role in the Buck Rogers episode "Vegas in Space" two years earlier), but not enough is done with her.Unfortunately, bad publicity resulting from the studio's ill-advised lawsuit with Clayton Moore over his wearing the mask in public appearances tarnished the film's premiere. This combined with the recent box office bomb of "Heaven's Gate" (1980) and the general public disinterest in Westerns at the time doomed the movie. But, if you appreciate any of those Westerns noted above, it's worth a look even though the Johnny Depp version is all-around more entertaining (2013).The film runs 1 hour, 38 minutes, and was shot Arizona (Monument Valley), New Mexico (Bonanza Creek Ranch and Eaves Movie Ranch in Santa Fe, Cook Ranch in Galisteo, Abiquiu), Southern Cal (Bronson Canyon Vasquez Rocks) and Utah (Moab, Monument Valley).GRADE: B-
What we have here is the story of a man who falls in love at first sight twice, in a matter of days, and offers to throw over his entire life for both women. It is a wonder he got as far as the start of this movie without getting himself into serious trouble. There are no scenes indicating any depth of true communication between the man and either woman; everything is said with big round eyes and cliches out of romantic novels. At the end of the movie, the hapless hero is shown middle-aged and lonely, without either woman. With his personality and weaknesses, we can only assume he has had countless unhappy relationships in the meantime.
Each time the player enters the ruins, they are only allowed to take 500 steps until a torrent of water sends the player back to the water's surface. Dull sounds of increasing intensity provide warnings to the player when their step count reaches 100, 300, or 450 steps.
Back on the night of 10/21, Price tells Tyrell he is appointed CTO. He explains it is a figurehead position, inherited from a deal gone wrong. Any ambition should be quelled and obediance is necessary. Price only came to inform him out of respect and takes silence as affimation. Tyrell believes his hero status is being used for Price to undo his shame from firing him in the first place. Price scoffs, telling him he isn't worth a move. As Price moves to leave, Mr. Robot asks if he knew about 5/9 and fsociety the whole time. Price says that he didn't know the minutiae, but explains that world catastrophes don't occur from lone wolves but by people like him allowing them. Mr. Robot insists that he was responsible, but Price explains that leaders have followers. Agenda must be inspired, not forced.

In FBI interrogation, presumably the early morning of 10/23, Dom questions Darlene about hacking her. Darlene has already explained. Santiago wants to hear the story, on camera. Darlene refuses, as her friends usually die when the FBI get intel, as she concludes they must be tied to the DA. Santiago wants to hear it from Dom. She explains they had relations, which she plans to report, when Darlene was caught trying to steal the badge to get into Sentinel. They tell Darlene immunity is off the table. Darlene explains that key to reversing 5/9, offering them to take it to E Corp themselves and be the heroes.
Spliced together from a couple of early '70s movies in the manga-inspired LONE WOLF & CUB series, SHOGUN ASSASSIN enjoys a bit of a cult reputation in the UK after it made its way onto the banned list when it first came out. It's a reputation that precedes it, with tales of spraying arterial blood and gore all over the place, and despite the hype the movie does live up to expectations. Despite the dodgy idea of editing movies together, it actually works in this instance, thanks to the simple narrative which essentially sees a lone samurai warrior pushing his kid along in a cart and tackling a series of assassins and ninjas along the way. It's as easy as that. The film has a very distinctive feel to it and anyone who's at all familiar with early '70s Japanese cinema will recognise the kind of cinematography and acting you see. It's all very cold, with minimal dialogue and stern expressions, and there are some quite beautiful moments in places thanks to the camera-work. The idea of having the boy narrate the tale is a clever one and the father-son relationship makes things more than watchable. Of course, we're all here for the action, and it doesn't disappoint as there are tons of inventive battles and skirmishes, each different from the last. Our hero, Lone Wolf, must battle all kinds of people, from gangs of ninjas to female assassins, lords and heroes and finally a trio of masters with some truly nasty weaponry in store. It's pretty sadistic, and expect severed limbs and plenty of blood geysers all over the place. Tarantino sure as heck got a lot of inspiration from this film when he went on to make his KILL BILL flicks. I really enjoyed SHOGUN ASSASSIN, which didn't flag for a moment; it's sometimes weird, sometimes different, always watchable, with an unconventional pair of heroes, humour in places, and a ton of well-staged action to recommend it. It's certainly left me with a longing to watch the original six-film series and see the full story...
For when I would account to myself for the birth of that passion, which afterwards ruled my destiny, I find it arise, like a mountain river, from ignoble and almost forgotten sources; but swelling as it proceeded, it became the torrent which, in its course, has swept away all my hopes and joys.
There are places in the world that merely stew in their own native atmosphere, off-limits patches of pure attitude and fearful weather. Provincetown is such a place. The smell is something of fish, something of gas stations. Sea salt dries on the tongue. One of America's most easterly places, Provincetown sits on a crooked finger of land in New England, beckoning to the Old World. It was here that the Puritans first landed; they whispered their hard prayers among the sand dunes for a dozen weeks before moving on to Plymouth Rock. The Cape is something of a Gothic-movie landscape: a pallid luminescence over the water, wood-and-brick houses crowding to the shore, an end-of-earth vertigo hanging there. You could feel lonely in all that milky light; the vibe is preternaturally northern, pre-nuclear. Provincetown stands like many a place in the head: every visit is the first visit, and yet none of them is. A town called Deja vu.
Two Japanese destroyers with anti-missile capabilities are now being deployed to the waters between North Korea and Japan. Patriot anti-missile batteries are also being sent to the Japan's north coast in anticipation of the launch. Meanwhile, the lone South Korean destroyer equipped with the Aegis-class system capable of firing a missile at a North Korean missile in flight has moved to the same area, joining a pair of American Aegis-class destroyers now tracking whatever happens. 2ff7e9595c
